Mike Daniels has worked in the book publishing business for three decades. He has established relationships with publishers of all sizes and genres nationwide while representing major book manufacturers and as a book publisher’s coach consults authors, publishers and artists with creative and strategic guidance to publish and market their books and portfolios. As a publisher’s coach he provides strategic direction, connections and insight to reach the client’s targeted goals to include assistance with content, design, production, marketing, publicity, distribution and sales. Over the years, Mike has assisted generals, corporate and television executives, celebrities, politicians, doctors, lawyers, educators, actors, artists, historians, and authors of all genres with the publication of their books. He knows how best to strategically produce any book and reach any market within the client's budget. He's also "the coach's coach" providing guidance and assistance to various publisher consultants and author services companies nationwide who don't possess his level of experience, knowledge or have his connections. Mike has regularly been invited to speak to students about publishing at Denver's Metro State University and to attendees at meetings and conferences of various publishing organizations.
Mike's a published author having penned Living, Loving and Loathing: Modern Rhymes and Limericks for the Romantically Inclined and Humorously Correct, is the current President of the Collective of Independent Publishers and Authors (CIPA) and twenty years earlier served as the president of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association (CIPA) where he received the CIPA Leadership Award and the Ric Simmons Memorial Life Vest Award for Excellence in Publishing, Integrity in Business and Service to Authors. While serving as CIPA's president in 2005-06, he co-founded and is now the Executive Director of the nonprofit 501 (c)(3) CIPA Education and Literacy Foundation where he has helped create partnerships with like-minded organizations and develop CIPA ELF's programs over the past twenty years.
In addition, Lt. Col. Mike Daniels has served with the Civil Air Patrol-U.S. Air Force Auxiliary for over 30 years. In that time he's had many roles including Rocky Mountain Region Director of Public Affairs, RMR Deputy Chief of Staff, Mid-Atlantic Region Assistant Director of Public Affairs, National Recruiting Manager and Colorado Wing Public Affairs Officer in addition to being a Master Rated PAO and Mission Public Information Officer (PIO). He was selected as the Civil Air Patrol's 2014 National Public Affairs Officer of the Year and while serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Colorado Wing's
Peaks & Planes magazine twice received CAP's 1st Place Balsem Award for Magazines and founded and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Rocky Mountain Region's
Altitudes
magazine that he launched in 2016.
As a past president and board member of the Intermountain Humane Society he had many animal rescue stories to share and for over a decade he regularly contributed articles to
A Sheltered Life magazine that was published to support the homeless animals at shelters and rescues throughout Colorado. Active as a leader in his community and state, Mike was his party's district candidate for the Colorado House of Representatives in 2006 and the Colorado Senate in 2010. He is a decorated Air Force veteran and graduate of the University of Colorado-Boulder and the Defense Language Institute of Monterey, CA and holds an MPA degree in Nonprofit Organizational Management that he earned at the University of Colorado and Harvard University.
